Chris is an associate at the firm. He joined the firm in January, 2005 after practicing at a boutique family law firm in Vancouver. He practises family law exclusively and has done so since his call to the bar in 2003.  Chris’ practice involves all family law matters, including those relating to children, property division and support. He has appeared in British Columbia’s provincial and appellate courts and appears regularly in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.  His practice also includes negotiating and drafting separation, cohabitation and marriage agreements.

Professional Experience

• Won a significant spousal support award for a client in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
• Successfully negotiated separation agreements involving the transfer of significant assets between the parties and, in so doing, minimized the tax implications of the asset transfers in favour of the clients.
• Obtained orders of child support and spousal support in favour of clients pursuant to the Federal Child Support Guidelines and the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines, respectively.
• Conducted examination for discovery, resulting in favourable admissions and a prompt settlement in client’s favour.
• Successfully negotiated a favourable result in a contested custody dispute resulting in orders of joint custody, alternating weekly access and a set off in child support.
• Successfully obtained orders restraining other parties from disposing family assets and removing children from the province of British Columbia.
• Successfully obtained an order reapportioning all family assets in favour of the client.

Chris is an avid golfer, skier and hockey fan.  He also enjoys traveling and cooking.
