JML is searching for an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our growing team

What do we expect from you?
- You will collaborate with clients and opposing counsel for the collection, review and production of documents;
- Draft routine correspondence;
- Review documents and code them for relevance and privilege;
- You will prepare pleadings, including:
- Form F8 Financial Statements;
- Affidavits;
- Notices of Application;
- Lists of Documents;
- Review and prepare transcript summaries;
- Assist lawyers with all aspects of trial preparations.
What qualifications and experience are we looking for?
- 5+ years of litigation experience with a specialty in family;
- Successful completion of a post-secondary LAA and/or paralegal program or the real world equivalent;
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of BC Supreme Court Rules, court practices and procedures and filing deadlines;
- Thorough knowledge of Family Law Act;
- The ability to work overtime if required;
- Experience in Adobe, MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Experience with DivorceMate.
