Emily Dishart
Profile
Emily Dishart maintains a broad litigation practice with a focus on construction disputes. Emily works with clients throughout all stages of litigation, including conducting examinations for discovery, representing clients in court, and acting as counsel in mediations and arbitrations. She is a skilled litigator and has appeared in the British Columbia Supreme Court and British Columbia Provincial Court.
Prior to joining JML, Emily practiced at a national law firm in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, insolvency, administrative law and construction law. In her undergraduate studies, Emily focused on Canadian Indigenous history and First Nations studies, experience that she leverages when working with Indigenous clients or advising on Indigenous-owned projects.
Emily is deeply involved in the legal community. She is a member of the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee and the lead editor of Keeping Tabs, a publication by young litigators for young litigators. Emily is also a roster lawyer for Access Pro Bono BC.
When not working, Emily can be found enjoying BC’s nature by skiing or hiking, or waking up ridiculously early on a Sunday morning to watch Formula 1.
