Born and raised in the Okanagan, Maddison completed her legal studies at Dalhousie University, where she volunteered at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic and developed a strong interest in access to justice. She is a published legal author in the Canadian Journal of Law and Technology for her research on the intersection of trademark law and Indigenous governance.
