Troy McLelan

Profile

Troy McLelan has been practicing law in British Columbia for over 15 years, almost exclusively in insurance/injury litigation, but also briefly in intellectual property law. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as a software engineer working on cluster filesystems and a residency management platform.

Troy has run (as first chair) several successful trials at the BC Supreme Court, most recently Arora v. Chou 2024 BCSC 2271, Mann v. Ahluwalia, 2023 BCSC 1536 and Lam v. Calalang, 2023 BCSC 945. He has also appeared before the BC Court of Appeal on multiple occasions.

With his extensive litigation experience, Troy is an excellent lawyer for commercial and construction litigation, as well as to advocate for clients who are participating in mediation and arbitration.

Personal

When he is not working, Troy enjoys spending time with his boys, coaching them in hockey and baseball. He also enjoys all the best of Vancouver, including skiing, hiking and swimming. He also enjoys cooking and will happily share his favourite.
